Tool Marking and Van Crime Prevention

Police Scotland has advised that two van crime prevention events, including tool marking,  with a company called Lock4vans – www.lock4vans.co.uk   are  to be held on :-

Wednesday 24 September 2025 at B&Q Fort Kinnaird  7.30am – 4pm

Thursday 25 September 2025 at B&Q Hermiston Gait  7.30am – 4pm

Consultation – Proposed new Tram Routes from  Granton to the Edinburgh BioQuarter and Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh and Beyond into the region

Edinburgh Council is seeking views on the proposed new tram routes.

The consultation began on Monday 25 August 2025 and runs for 12 weeks, finishing on Monday 17 November 2025.

Edinburgh Council held a public information event at Blackhall Primary School on 2 September 2025 

Craigleith/Blackhall Community Council discussed the consultation and considered the community view at a Community Council meeting on Monday 15 September at 7.30pm, held at Blackhall St Columba’s Church, Queensferry Road.

If necessary there will be a further discussion at the meeting on 20 October 2025.

Shed and Garage Break-ins

There continues to be an increase in the number of break-ins to sheds and garages across the city. Thieves are targeting high value pedal cycles and tools. Additionally food in freezers is also being targeted. Most recent experience of such thefts was in Craigleith and Blinkbonny overnight on the 7 and 8 May 2020.
